Gabriel Eduardo Saporta, usually calls Gabe Saporta was born in Montevideo, Uruguay on October 11 1979. He has a younger brother named Ricky, who's 2 years younger than Gabe. His father was a doctor. And on the age 4, his father decided that he didn't want to stay in Uruguay anymore, so they moved to United States of America. Then his father had to restart his medical school in America. But one day his father left to go to medical school and Gabe didn't see him for 7 years.
By the age 8, he found music as a sense of escape. When he was 12, his father had returned from medical school and they had moved to middle-class suburb. When gabe was 15, his mother filed for divorce with his father. Then the resulting battle ended in Gabe's mother taking everything in Gabe's father. Gabe then left with his father, not wanting with his mother anymore.
Gabe likes to attending concerts with his friends until a knife was pulled on him during such a concert. He and his friends then considered forming a band and performing locally. The concerts grew in popularity in his small town, until about 500 people would attend each week. Gabe then joined another band, "Humble Beginnings". He attended Jewish Day School in West Orange, Nj.
Gabe is the former lead singer, bassist and lyricist for the punk band, "Midtown". And he's currently the lead singer and primary creative force behind the band, "Cobra Starship". In 2006, Gabe and William Beckett of The Academy is..., Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes and Maja Ivarsson of The Sound appeared on Cobra Starship's first single, "Bring It (Snakes On A Plane)" and later appeared in a music video for the song.
The song was featured on the soundtrack of the movie "Snakes On A Plane" and played during the closing cresits of the movie. The band now consists of Victoria Asher, Alex Suarez, Nate Novarro, Ryland Blackinton and Gabe Saporta.
Gabe and Cobra Starship is currently working on the third Cobra Starship album, "Hot Mess" and has recently released the songs "Pete Wentz Is The Only Reason We're Famous" and "Good Girls Go Bad"
Gabe is a vegetarian. While on tour with Panic At The Disco and The Academy is... in New Zealand, Gabe opened a New Zealand bank account. He stated "My bom shelter is going to be here (New Zealand), that's why I'm opening a bank account" in an interview. On 2008, Gabe had surgery to remove a cyst on his vocal cords.
